Martin’s Lift Truck

Martin’s Lift Truck was established in 1983 and the company was incorporated in 1989.

Martin started the business in 1983 out of a full-size Dodge van. By the next year, he was working out of a 1000 square ft. shop on Highway 3 in Aylmer. In 1989, the business was incorporated and expanded to one employee.

By the year 2000, Martin’s Lift Truck had a handful of employees, and had added Operator Training to it’s services provided. The opportunity to sell Heli forklifts came in 2005, and the little shop was quickly becoming too small for all the activity. In 2008, the business moved just down the street to the current location, allowing for 9000 sq. ft. of working space and multiple office spaces.

During the Covid years, new truck sales increased significantly because Heli products were in stock and available in Ontario. Many big, brand name companies were waiting up to a year or more for new truck deliveries. This caused our staff base to increase, adding a few more full time technicians as well as a full time sales rep.

Fast forward to Spring of 2024, son Tim was hired as the General Manger to oversee the daily operations as Martin began to step into semi-retirement.

In 2025, we recognized a need for a location to the west of us, as a few new units had been sold there and the interest was gaining. We launched our Leamington branch in March with a manager and a technician.

We became a Load Lifter dealer, expanding into larger rough terrain equipment.

Later that year, the property next door to our Aylmer shop became available and we purchased it, acquiring another 2500 sq. ft. of shop space. This also gave us more highway frontage and added parking.

Today, Martin’s Lift Truck employs 17 staff, including 8 full time technicians. Our fleet of service vans and 80 rental units stand ready for all your material handling needs.
